ALL BLACK EVERYTHING looks into the objectification of women through clothing; inspired by recent change in french laws regarding muslim women wearing the niquab ( covers the head and face) which I felt removes the option for a women to decide how she presents her self, instead the women are controlled by male rules.
I looked at how religious dress is steeped in black, with most religions wearing black for uniformity which relates to ALL BLACK EVERYTHING, proving how black has so much power, strength and authority linked to it. I wanted to capture this in female form using structured garments to visualize the demonstration of expressing freedom of dress. Each head piece embraces the room as if exploding with protest, whilst the bespoke printed fabric contains photography revealing a woman embracing black and physically being restrained.
